DRIVE / RACE TO A DEAD TOY

In this video, you'll learn how to build your dog's drive to a 'dead' or motionless toy. This lesson is an example of a monthly foundation and drive challenge, first seen in The 2018 Agility Challenge.

Once your dog or puppy chases after a toy that is being pulled away from it, it is time to introduce a toy that is not moving (dead toy). This game aims to increase your dog's drive to the 'dead' toy. At the same time, your dog learns to run next to you while focusing ahead, helping to prevent behavior such as snapping at you or spinning in front of you when later running on an agility course.
